New Hampshire's Natural Resources Volunteer Program

 

The New Hampshire Natural Resources Volunteer Program administers a course that meets once a week in the greater Manchester and Seacoast areas for 11 weeks with optional field trips. Participants commit to volunteering 40 hours in an effort to strengthen communities, promote social change, and enhance urban ecosystems.
 

The course also offers an option for college students to take the course for credit. Classes are taught by natural resource specialists from around the state, and consist of a variety of educational opportunities including experiential learning, group discussions and field sessions.

                                    Sessions from the Natural Resources Volunteer Program include:

• NH Forests and Wildlife • Tree Identification • Planting & Care • Soil and Water Resources • Climate Change • Land Conservation

The next class will begin in September 2011 and run through December 2011. Participants are selected from a pool of applicants based on community involvement, communication skills and, most importantly, enthusiasm and willingness to volunteer.
