Technical Assistance Programs Description Who Should Apply
CTA - Conservation Technical Assistance  CTA provides conservation planning services to private and public individuals, groups and entities. Agricultural producers and owners of agricultural lands, including forest lands.
CREP - Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program Annual rental payments and cost-share assistance to establish eligible conservation buffers on active agricultural lands. Agricultural producers interested in grassed waterways, filter strips, field borders or contour buffer strips.
CRP - Conservation Reserve Program Offers annual rental payments and cost-share assistance to convert farmland to long-term, resource conservation cover. Agricultural producers with highly erodible land, marginal pasture, and other eligible farmland.
EWP- Emergency Watershed Program Helps groups of people with imminent hazards to life and property caused by natural disasters.  NRCS provides technical and financial assistance to preserve life and property threatened by excessive erosion and flooding. Public and private landowners are eligible for assistance but much be represented by a project sponsor. The project sponsor must be a legal unit of government such as a town, city, county, or conservation district.

Backyard Conservation NRCS provides information to homeowners on ways they can reduce erosion, pollution, conserve resources, and enhance wildlife habitat.
Conservation Buffer Initiative
NRCS provides technical guidance for the design and implementation of this critical conservation practice, as buffers protect and enhance resources.
 
Conservation Education Working with partners throughout the state, NRCS provides community outreach and educational activities.
Earth Team Volunteers A program for individuals to help improve the natural resources in their community while learning about the environment and conservation.

RC&D - Resource Conservation & Development Program NRCS facilitation of regional partnerships working together to improve various resource conditions.  RC&D provides a way for local residents to work together and plan how they can actively solve environmental, economic and social problems facing their communities.
Soil Survey Program Through this program, NRCS studies and inventories the soil resources of the Nation, since understanding the nature and properties of soils is critical to managing and conserving other natural resources.
